The Story Behind Lefevre Chocolate

The Story Behind Lefevre Chocolate

Every box of Lefevre Chocolate carries with it a story that began over 30 years ago — not in a professional kitchen, but with a simple challenge from a girl who dared Richard Lefevre to make chocolates.

Richard took that challenge seriously. He taught himself the craft, immersing himself in the art of chocolate making before going on to train under Paul A Young, one of the UK's most celebrated chocolatiers. What started as a personal passion slowly grew into something much bigger.

A Family Affair

Today, Lefevre Chocolate is a true family business. Richard works alongside his wife Laura and their daughter Freya, each bringing their own love and care to every piece they create. Based in the heart of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, the team handcrafts every chocolate fresh per order — no mass production, no shortcuts.

"We never wanted to be a factory," says Richard. "Every chocolate we make is made with the same care as if it were for someone we love."

From Word of Mouth to Farm Shops and Hotels

Lefevre Chocolate grew almost entirely through word of mouth — a testament to the quality that speaks for itself. Today, their chocolates are stocked in local farm shops and hotels, and they create bespoke branded boxes for corporate clients who want to give something truly special.

Made Fresh, Made With Love

When you order from Lefevre Chocolate, you're not receiving something that's been sitting in a warehouse. Your chocolates are made fresh in the Shrewsbury kitchen, by the hands of a family who genuinely loves what they do.

That's the Lefevre difference.
